So you want to know if a guy likes you? Some guys can be hard to read if they don’t just come right out and tell you they like you.
The good news is that a guy’s body language can be a big giveaway when it comes to figuring out if he likes you.
There are certain things guys do subconsciously when they like a woman. If you know what signs to look for, you can decode his body language and find out if he’s crushing on you.
Here is a list of 24 signs a guy likes you. If a guy did only one of these things, it probably wouldn’t tell you much. But if he does a bunch of them, then you can be pretty sure he likes you.

1. He smiles at you
If you notice a guy smiling at you, it’s a pretty good indication he likes you. It’s natural to smile at someone you like, but how do you know if it means something more? Try to notice how often he smiles at you. If he seems to smile at you a lot more than would seem normal, he probably likes you. If he seems to smile at you whenever you lock eyes, for no apparent reason, he probably likes you.
2. He maintains eye contact with you
If a guy makes eye contact with you and it feels prolonged, even just a fraction of a second longer than would seem normal, he is most likely interested in you. Especially if he flashes you a big grin at the same time.
3. You catch him staring at you
Have you ever caught a guy staring at you, and he suddenly turns away? If you catch him once, it could be a mere coincidence. But if it happens more than once, chances are he likes you. Provided you aren’t doing or wearing something absurd or have food on your face, he’s probably into you.
4. He’s always around
If a guy is always walking near you, sitting next to you, or just seems to pop up wherever you are, those are all good signs that he is interested and trying to find opportunities to get closer to you.
5. He stands a little too close
If you feel as though a guy is invading your personal space just slightly, this could be a major sign that he likes you. Take note of the distance between you when he’s around. If he’s a little bit closer than he should be, he probably likes you. If you move in a little and he doesn’t step back, it means he’s receptive. If he responds by getting even closer, you can be pretty certain he really likes you.
6. He leans in, shoulders square to you, without turning his back
If a guy leans in facing you with his shoulders square to you, and rarely turns his back, that kind of body language is a good indication he’s interested in you.
7. His legs, feet, or toes are pointed towards you
When a guy is interested in you, he may subconsciously point his legs, feet, or toes towards you. People tend to point their feet in the direction of where they want to go or who they are interested in.
8. He stands tall
When a guy likes you, he may subconsciously stand up taller, push his chest out, and tuck his stomach in to impress you and appear more masculine. If a guy is slouching and suddenly stands up taller when he sees you, this could indicate he’s subconsciously trying to impress you.
9. He mirrors your body language
People tend to subconsciously mirror each other’s actions when they are listening to one another intently. If a guy mimics your body language, this could be strong indication of his interest because it means he’s focused on you. Try leaning forward, touching your hair, taking a sip of your drink, or resting your chin on your hand. If a guy likes you, he might start copying your gestures without even realizing he’s doing it.
10. He touches you
If you notice a guy making a lot of unnecessary physical contact with you, he probably likes you. He might brush against your arm, pat you on the back, put his hands on your shoulders, touch his leg to yours, or give you a lot of hugs. The more physical contact he makes, the more obvious it is that he likes you.
11. He raises his eyebrows
If a guy raises his eyebrows in response to something you say or do, it could be an indication of his interest in you. On its own, this might not be enough to tell if a guy likes you, as it could just be a friendly, non-flirty facial expression, so watch out for other signs too.
12. He grooms himself
If a guy starts grooming himself when he sees you, he may be subconsciously trying to look good around you. If he starts fixing his hair, brushing the lint off his clothes, or straightening his tie, it could mean that he likes you.
13. He’s nervous, awkward, or clumsy around you
If a guy acts nervous, blushes, gets flustered, or is just awkward around you, he probably likes you. He’s most likely nervous about making a good impression.
14. He laughs at your jokes
If he laughs at your jokes, even when they aren’t that funny, it’s a good sign he likes you.
15. He shows off
If a guy tends to show off a lot around you, he probably likes you and is just trying to get your attention.
16. After he says or does something funny, he looks at you for a reaction
Let’s say a guy tells a joke or does something funny in a group and everyone around starts laughing. If he looks at you first to see your reaction, it’s a sign he likes you because he wants to make sure you noticed and laughed too.
17. His behavior changes instantly
If a guy’s behavior changes the minute he sees you, that could be a sign he likes you and is trying to impress you. If he’s in a group and he’s laughing or acting rowdy, he might instantly quiet down when he notices you. Or he might have been quiet and then suddenly gets louder and tries to become the center of attention to impress you.
18. He treats you differently
Watch how a guy acts around his friends or other girls. If he treats you differently, that could be a sign he likes you.
19. He’s protective
If a guy likes you, he may start to act protective of you. He might give you his jacket if you’re cold. Or if you are walking through a crowded place, he might position himself in front of you to push away the crowd.
20. His friends tease him around you
If you’re around a guy when he’s hanging out with his friends, and they know he likes you, they may tease him subtly. Watch how his friends act around you. If they turn towards him, smile at him, punch him in the arm, or smirk knowingly, they’re probably messing with him because they know he likes you.
21. Acts annoyed or jealous when you talk to other guys
If a guy is keeping an eye on you and looks jealous or annoyed when you’re talking to another guy, he probably likes you. He might try to look like he’s not paying attention, but he’ll keep tabs on you to see if you’re interested in the other guy. He might even sigh or walk away.
22. Watches you while he flirts with other girls
If a guy’s watching you while he’s flirting with another girl, he’s probably trying to get your attention and gauge your reaction to find out if you like him. Why else would he be looking at you when he’s supposed to be flirting with someone else if he didn’t like you?
23. He hangs around one second longer
When you’ve been talking to a guy, and he’s about to leave, but then stays one second longer than he had to, it’s a sign he likes you. That one second longer was a moment of hesitation where he was trying to decide if he should ask for your number or ask you out.
24. He takes one last look at you
If a guy makes eye contact with you just before leaving the room, even though he’s busy talking to someone else, he probably likes you and wanted to get one last look at you. He was probably hoping you were looking at him too so he could lock eyes with you one more time.

Okay, So I’ve liked this one guy for about 4 (going on 5) years now. When we were in middle school he would go out of his way and make funny faces at me in class when I was down and even stand up and wave when I moved to the back of the room. Then my friend did something to him and he took his anger out on me.
It’s been 3 years now and we’ve only talked a little bit. I try to see if he still likes me by looking over to him and smiling, even blushing and avoid eye contact because I like him! I mean, he looks back at me in one class and all and when he was in my math class he would be talking to one of his friends that’s a girl and they would both look over at me and smile or laugh just a bit.
I really like him but I don’t know if he likes me back. Do you think I should just give up on him? Or do you think it’s a possibility that he likes me back?
Hey I’m 14 and I have a huge crush on this guy. I met him at summer school in 2011 and volenteered as a teacher’s assistant. He didn’t really pay any attention to me then. But this year’s summer school he again volenteered and he’s been staring at me this year and paying more attention to me than 2011. I mean today he stood in front of me in class when the teacher was showing us how to gut fish. He’s really tall and knew I couldn’t see. So I asked him to move and he smiled and stayed there. He was in front of me and I couldn’t move away because there was a table beside me. I tried to push him and while I was trying I was touching his back (touching as in sort of like feeling) and trying to push his waist forward. Then I gave up and stood behind him. Then he started leaning backwards on purpose trying to annoy me. So I took his waist and stood on my tippy toes and lay my head on his arm/shoulder. I was comfortable there so I stayed like that. I realized his (excuse my language) ass was sort of on my crotch. I moved away first after that.
On the boat the same day he was drawing on my hand and he put my hand on his thigh very close to his umm…you know what. I think I like him but he likes my bestie and I’m not sure if he likes me. What do you think? 🙂
So I have a friend who I have known for a few years now and he has never told me he likes me but he shows pretty much every single sign on this list. Only problem is we live over an hour from each other and we both have crazy schedules. I have a problem that yesterday I saw a guy staring at me when we were standing in a crowd. Before when I entered the class he was there in the last row and I took my place in the 1st row but in the same line… I saw tht he was staring at me…. Well I am only 14 and I have this friend and we are very close. I think of him as a brother and he thinks of me as a sister. We talk a lot on the phone but he is always the one to call first.
We sleep on the phone many times. And there was a day where he wanted to admit to me something and I immediately thought it was something about me and he told me he likes this girl but he just didn’t want to tell me. And he kept giving me clues so I thought, oh if he’s not telling me who it is, it’s obviously me. So he was all like it is common sense and he finally tells me it’s me.
So the next day I tell him I like him too. So after that we got even closer. But as time passed, on the last day of school I didn’t get the chance to see him again. And I thought that we have drifted this summer but one day he called and asked if I could go to a water park with him and I went.
I thought before, because we didn’t really talk as much anymore, that he didn’t like me anymore. But he is still doing a lot of the signs that are on here, but I’m not sure.
And his mom mentioned to us that we are going to fall in love in high school and I started to giggle and he was just staring at me and smiling at me. And he told me, you don’t think so? And I’m like well I don’t know.
And he asked me I could spend 4th of July with him and I said sure. So I’m still waiting on what’s going to happen!
I met a guy 2 years ago, actually he is my brother’s friend. He is 48 I guess and I am 29. From the first day he was acting in a different way toward me. He always smiles at me and tries to be around.
I did not have any connection with him except FB however he did not even text me on FB. After a while he came to visit us last year. He was even more friendly with me and hugged me once. But he never told me anything or tried to contact me like how is your life and what are you doing.

I met this guy when I had my vacation in our province. Within my 1 month stay there, I had noticed some of his gestures like he keeps on making jokes around me, he went in our house always, sometimes when he passed by our house he always liked checking if I was there. One time he got my contact number. He did not text me just that time I gave my number.

I like this guy that I work with and recently I confronted him with supposedly rumors about me dating him and this other girl that I don’t like. I am somewhat confused but kind of of figured I am only in the friend zone. My problem is that there’s this boy I like. He’s in year 8 and I’m in year 9. I have turned away a lot when I see him as I get dead smiley. I’ve known him for two months now and I really want to ask him out but I’m worried that he only thinks of me as a friend.

So there’s this guy I really like, but I don’t know if he likes me. I just went on a church trip with him, but in the beginning he didn’t really talk to me. He always surrounded himself with tons of girls, 2 or 3 of which liked him (and he knew that), but I don’t think anyone knew that I did.
We made prolonged eye-contact several times, though, especially when he wasn’t around all those other girls. When we were in a smaller group together, we’d look at each other when we talked, and he sat in the chair next to me a few times, so I got to hold his hand when we prayed.
Then a few days later, on the last night we were there, we did some special wrapping-up-type stuff. We had a huge circle with candles and we got to light one person’s after someone came to light ours. The person’s I lit just happened to be right next to where he was sitting in the circle, so I was sitting next to him for at least 20 minutes before he got his candle lit and moved. I was sitting sideways on my knees, facing him, and resting on my hand, which was less than a foot from him. He never moved away, and I’m not sure if he was looking at me from the corner of his eye or not.
After he moved, he was directly across the circle from me, and I’m pretty sure he was looking at me a lot of the time. During our worship time that night I thought he kept looking at me too. Then I got brave, and when he was alone a little later, I stayed in the room with him and sat right in front of him, and we talked mostly about music, because he had his guitar there, and I told him i wanted to learn. He showed me some stuff, and helped me with my fingers. This is late at night; around midnight or one.
But when his other clingy girl friends came in, he didn’t talk or look at me as much, and mostly talked to them. Also in the little yearbook type things we had, he wrote thanks for coming in mine, with a smiley face. The next few days after that, he has talked/hung around me more than ever before. I just really want to know if he likes me. He’s confusing.
It sounds like he is interested, but he wants a back up plan if you end up breaking his heart. 😉 Also, it may all depend on your relationship prior to the trip, and if he knew you were around when he was talking to the other girls. He may be using them to gauge your reaction to his behaviour, especially if he knew they like him. His prolonged eye-contact reinforces my theory, but maybe get another friend to hang around with you two. I know from experience similar to yours, the whole church and friend thing doesn’t always work. All in all, I think he does like you, but it won’t matter if YOU are in denial, because you don’t want to get your hopes up. Anyway, I hope this helped! There is a good chance he likes you, when he is talking to other girls in front of you, that is mainly so he can see your reaction. He will do that to see if you get a bit sad to see that he is talking to other girls and not you. If he locks eye contact with you then he surely is interested in you, and if he comes and sits next to you that is a good sign especially if he knew you were going to be there for a long time. If he seemed really interested when you were talking to each other that is also a good sign. I cannot guarantee that he likes you but it sure seems like it. I hope this helped and you will be fine 🙂
I really like this guy and I noticed he is always staring at me. He’s on my brother’s basketball team and hangs with my brother so whenever I talk to my brother, he stands really close to me. Onetime after a game, the coach was talking and he was staring at me the whole time but it was like he didn’t realize it because he turned real fast.
Then he sat right behind me to change his shoes when the whole bench was empty. One time a kid got hurt and I was staring at the guy because I felt bad and I noticed my crush staring at me.
